Enabling / Disabling Control Panel 2FA

By enabling 2FA, you are activating an important and standardized security feature that can help protect your IncogNET services. Setting up 2FA is both quick and easy, and in just a few moments you'll have your IncogNET VPS and vDedi Hosting Panel ( https://my.vmho.st ) secured by 2FA.

To activate 2FA:

  • Once logged in, navigate to the "Account" link shown near the top right of the page. Alternatively, you can click here: https://my.vmho.st/account
  • From here, you can go to the "Two-Factor Authentication" tab shown near the Profile, Password and Sharing tabs.
  • Using the OTP Authentication app of your choice, such as Authy, 2FAS, or Google Authentication, scan the QR code displayed on the screen.
  • Alternatively, you may input the secret code (shown below the QR Code) into the app to complete setup.
  • Once imported, you will now have time based six digit authentication codes. You may enter the 6 digit code that shows for "IncogNET VM Panel (you@youremail.tld)

That's it! You've now enabled 2FA for your account!

Now, on the screen displayed, you will have the option to view your backup codes. It is important to make a copy of your one-time backup codes. These codes are essential for accessing your account in case you lose access to your two-factor authentication device. Please store them in a safe place!

To Disable 2FA:

  • Once logged in, navigate to the "Account" link shown near the top right of the page. Alternatively, you can click here: https://my.vmho.st/account
  • From here, you can go to the "Two-Factor Authentication" tab shown near the Profile, Password and Sharing tabs.
  • The topmost section will display text indicating that you can disable your Two-Factor Authentication. All you have to do is click the "Deactivate" button.
  • You will then be prompted to confirm your choice with a pop-up warning, "Are you sure you want to deactivate two-factor authentication? This security feature provides an additional layer of protection for your account. If you proceed with deactivation, your account will be less secure."
  • Once you agree, you will loop back to the 3rd bullet point of the "Activate 2FA" section above (2FA setup).

That's it!
