If you have purchased a domain name from IncogNET or have purchased our DNS Hosting Service, then this guide will show you how to quickly add records to your domain name.
1.) Visit the DNS Management Page. If you have more than one domain name, you will see these listed. Select the "Manage Records" button that is associated with the domain in question.
2.) On this page, you are now viewing the "zone", which is the collection of this domain name's DNS records. To add a new record, click the, "+Add Record" button which can be found in the top right of the DNS Manager display.
3.) Now, you may add your record.
Some Examples:
Your domain name is: "example.com"
You want to point "example.com" to the IP address 12.34.56.78
To do this, you'd enter "@" as the "Name" (Which is the zone apex), Type would be "A", Content would be "12.34.56.78" and the TTL can remain the default value of 3600. This would effectively publish the record telling the world that example.com is at 12.34.56.78
You could repeat the steps for your IPv6 Address instead of the IPv4 address and selecting the Record Type as "AAAA".
If you wanted a CNAME record for WWW (so www.example.com is the same as example.com, you may enter "WWW" as the Name, then select "CNAME" as the Type with the Content being example.com
